This project was a blast. I got to take some of the most beautiful music ever written and give it the trombone treatment. You’ll hear everything from classic, reverent carols to things that probably shouldn’t be allowed in polite company (Track 5, I’m looking at you). It’s Christmas, and we take our music seriously… but not ourselves.
Gathering this group of stellar players, many of whom I played with for years, was the real joy. They’re world-class musicians who can turn a simple four-part harmony into something magical, and they can do it while staring at a music stand that’s about to collapse. Enjoy the record.
