Soñando en Color is FANTASTIC!! I am about half way through listening to the works you’ve chosen for this album, and it is STUNNING!! That first piece is a knockout!! And The Stravinsky is something I had never heard. Wonderful. Then the Horchata Tango is Sensational! I cannot wait to hear the rest.

What beautiful playing! I also love your writing. Kiva especially was so beautiful. Your Tango and Waltz was also very enjoyable. It sounded just like the cover art. From the way you are playing and writing, I can tell that you are enjoying life, and that makes me happy! Congratulations on a great recording, and I hope you keep it going!

Your beautiful, easy way of playing makes the difficult sound effortless. Very George Roberts-like, for sure. Your compositions are very engaging, and I enjoy the way you navigated the Pärt. Overall, the eclectic variety and lovely performances by all make this an exceptionally enjoyable album, Gerry…congrats!

I really enjoy stretching the palette of what might be the trombones likely setting, and hope to find some new combination that I’ve never heard before. It really opens up the door to creative possibility.

Over the years I’ve been playing, I’ve had a wide range of music performance opportunities. Symphony, Opera, Ballet, Dixieland, Big Band, small combo jazz, pop music, Salsa, movies, Broadway shows, marching band, brass quintet, solos, duets, trios, quartets, trombone choir. Did I forget something? Probably! And my recordings have included Vibes, marimba, woodwind quintet, string quartet, and the usual suspect, piano.

On this project, I even went so far as to include a couple things without the trombone! What? Are you crazy? What kind of trombone album is this anyway?

So I hope you enjoy hearing these pieces. They come from different times, different groups, different instruments, and all express something that speaks to me and I hope it speaks something to you!
