Turquoise Trail
Turquoise Trail is a collection of original compositions by Gerry Pagano, inspired by the landscapes, culture, and spirit of the American Southwest.
Rooted in the beauty of New Mexico, these works draw from mountain vistas, desert roads, ancient pueblos, vast night skies, and the countless experiences that shape a life in this remarkable region.
For much of his musical career, Pagano devoted himself to interpreting the music of others. This recording marks a different journey—one of creating a personal musical voice. The pieces on Turquoise Trail emerged from road trips, friendships, conversations, local traditions, unexpected ideas, and a deep curiosity about the world.
Listeners will hear influences ranging from Bach and Steve Reich to Southwestern folk music, chamber music, improvisation, and the rich sonorities of low brass instruments. Some works began as simple trombone duets before evolving into larger, more colorful ensembles. Others were inspired by geckos, dust storms, radio telescopes, sacred spaces, regional cuisine, and the extraordinary landscapes that surround everyday life in New Mexico.
Included with the album are the song tracks in both CD quality WAV and MP3 formats. Also included is the 4-page liner notes booklet.
